We grow our own Norway Spruce for the perfect ‘cut your own experience’. The Norway Spruce is the most traditional Christmas tree species that gives off a unique scent that everyone associates with Christmas. Our trees are cut fresh by you, whereas shop-bought trees can be more than 4 weeks old when purchased! Our trees smell great, last all of Christmas, and are excellent value.
Nordman Fir trees are known best for their needle retention and soft glossy dark needles. Our beautiful Nordman Firs are bought in from a family-run farm in Northumberland and are freshly cut for us. We display our range of pre-cut Nordman Fir trees in stands for people to view and choose their perfect tree from. We also stock ready-to-go netted trees for those who are in a hurry.
Our sustainable pot grown Christmas trees allow you to buy a living tree. By keeping it watered over the Christmas period when inside your house, you can reuse it the following year, rather than throwing away a perfectly good tree and having to pay replace it next year. If you return it to us, we will look after it for you until next year and give you a £10 voucher for your pot grown tree the following year.

Here on the Meldon Estate we have been selling cut your own Christmas trees for over 30 years. The idea came from James’ father offering the odd tree for local churches and charities from the woods, which lead onto individuals asking if they could bring their family to cut down their own tree. Now we specifically grow trees for the cut your own market, in fact we now have in excess of 10000 trees growing and continue to plant a further 2000 trees every year. Giving you the customer plenty choice. In addition, we also now offer pre-cut Nordman trees for those who don’t have the time to choose and cut their own Christmas tree.
