Come and choose from our wide range of Christmas trees and visit our festive Christmas shop where we have beautiful baubles, natural handmade wreaths, festive decorations, and more. This year we will be serving hot drinks from our Christmas Cabin, lit up with fairy lights for a Christmassy feel and new for this year we are working with the Dyke Neuk pub where a 10% discount of your total bill including food and drink is being offered with the purchase of one of our trees.
Our cut your own trees are Norway Spruce the very original Christmas Tree which gives off the lovely fresh scent commonly associated with Christmas. Cutting them yourself ensures they are as fresh as can be and will last all through the festive season whilst giving off the scent of Christmas too.
We also have pre-cut Nordman Christmas trees and pot-grown Norway spruce for those who would like to keep a living tree.

We grow our own Norway Spruce for the perfect ‘cut your own experience’. The Norway Spruce is the most traditional Christmas tree species that gives off a unique scent that everyone associates with Christmas. Our trees are cut fresh by you, whereas shop-bought trees can be more than 4 weeks old when purchased! Our trees smell great, last all of Christmas, and are excellent value.
On arrival you will be given a saw to cut down your chosen tree and our helpful staff will advise on how the process works. We do recommend that you bring protective gloves as the trees are prickly and wear all-weather footwear such as Wellington boots as the ground can get muddy and the grass is long in places.
Nordman Fir trees are renowned for needle retention and soft glossy dark needles. Our Nordman Firs are bought in from a family-run farm in Northumberland and are freshly cut for us. We display our Nordman Fir trees in stands for people to view and choose their perfect tree from. We also stock pre-cut and netted trees for those who are in a hurry.
Back again for 2024, our sustainable pot grown Christmas trees. It’s a shame to throw away a beautiful tree after Christmas. Our pot-grown trees allow you to buy a living tree, keep it watered over the Christmas period when inside your house, and reuse it the following year, rather than throwing it away and having to replace it. If you return it to us, we will look after it for you until next year and give you a £10 voucher for your pot grown tree the following year.

Here on the Meldon Estate we have been selling cut your own Christmas trees for over 30 years. The idea came from James’ father offering the odd tree for local churches and charities from the woods, which lead onto individuals asking if they could bring their family to cut down their own tree. Now we specifically grow trees for the cut your own market, in fact we now have in excess of 10000 trees growing and continue to plant a further 2000 trees every year. Giving you the customer plenty choice. In addition, we also now offer pre-cut Nordman trees for those who don’t have the time to choose and cut their own Christmas tree.
